University College Birmingham opens its doors to employers for National Careers Week
University College Birmingham (UCB) opens its doors for National Careers Week (NCW) 2026, with a comprehensive programme of events from Monday 2-Thursday 5 March.
Spread across the week, all six events are free of charge and invite employers to host a stand to showcase their business. This is your chance to tap into a talent pipeline of enthusiastic, skilled, motivated students keen to explore what you have to offer.
“Our network of employers is an invaluable resource for our students as they explore their options and prepare to enter the world of work,” says Melissa Willis, UCB’s Interim Director of Student Employability (Higher Education).
“We welcome attendance and contribution from anyone who is ready to tap into our incredible pipeline of talent.”

Here’s what’s in store:
Green Careers Day: Monday 2 March, Moss House, 10am-2pm
Engage with students who are interested in sustainability-led careers.
As the workforce of tomorrow, students are increasingly looking to employers and careers with sustainable business practices and positive social impact at their core.
Showcase your sustainability initiatives, highlight the green skills you need to future-proof your business and source the talent to support the transition to a more sustainable economy.
Serving Success at UCB: Tuesday 3 March, Moss House, 10am-2pm.
Promote your experience-led opportunities to a diverse, work-ready pool of students keen to understand what your business has to offer.
This is your chance to source the next generation of talent from across hospitality, tourism, events, aviation and culinary arts to support your business growth. Your insight and experiences will help shape students’ understanding of industry expectations and the expertise needed in the workplace.
Uniform and Blue Light Service Day: Wednesday 4 March, Moss House, 10am-2pm.
Dedicated to the service-based industries, this event will be attended by students who are passionate about having a career with variety, purpose and public value.
Explain career structures, identify progression routes and work-based learning opportunities, and share what makes your sector so special, to an audience who want to know more about how they can add value and impact to society now and in the future.
Blueprint to the Future – breakfast networking event: Thursday 5 March, James Cond Building, 8.30-10.30am
Announcing the launch of our Industrial Advisory Board, this event is also your opportunity to discover how our apprenticeship courses can benefit your business, injecting the brightest minds from our digital, engineering and built environment students into your workforce.
Explore collaborations through placements, projects and apprenticeships, connect with other industry stakeholders and meet talented students following the breakfast.
Ahead of the Game: Thursday 5 March, Moss House, 10am-12pm
UCB students attending this sports careers event are looking to you for how they can apply their energy, motivation and experience to a career in the dynamic sports industry.
From CV writing and interview preparation to workshops and panel discussions from industry professionals, this is place you need to be if you are a sporting club, organisation or governing body looking to recruit the next generation of innovative and driven specialists.
