Award-winning talent set to shine at new Nuneaton Town Centre campus

North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College (NWSLC) are celebrating success on two fronts, with its hospitality and catering students winning the prestigious UK Young Restaurant Team of the Year title while work progresses on the college’s new Grayson Place campus in Nuneaton Town Centre.

Students Alfie Thorpe, Caitlin Mann and Ruby Butcher impressed industry judges to secure the competition’s top award, with Ruby also winning the Lakeland Dairies Challenge and Curriculum Area Lead Jon Starns being named Mentor of the Year. The accolades reinforce NWSLC’s reputation for developing outstanding hospitality talent and providing students with real-world industry experience.

That success will soon have a new home. NWSLC Grayson Place is currently being fitted out ahead of its opening in September, and will become the base for Grayson’s, the college’s award-winning restaurant, alongside a Digital Innovation Hub and Adult and Higher Education Centre. The state-of-the-art campus forms a key part of the wider regeneration of Abbey Street and has been designed to create opportunities for learners, businesses and the local community.

For employers, the combination of national competition success and investment in industry-standard facilities demonstrates NWSLC’s commitment to developing the skilled workforce needed by the hospitality sector.
